The New England region is traversed by numerous major rivers along with their tributaries that surge with changing seasons and increasingly common extreme weather events. Adapting and training to our changing world is a necessity to be prepared for the next storm. This 1-day course is designed for any first arriving company that may be required to perform a shore-based operation to affect a rescue. Students will learn basic river hydraulics, dynamic hazards, along with aggressive and effective rescue strategies from the simple to the most complex. This is a dynamic course that emphasizes gaining a true understanding of swift water safety and rescue in swift water environments..
